Dr Julie Chambers PhD Chairperson
Tāmaki Estuary Protection

Clean beaches, thriving marine life and clean, clear, safe waters flowing through our neighbourhoods – could it be possible? All through the power of volunteer activities, and fun.

Julie  is Chair of the  the Tāmaki Estuary Protection Society (TEPS) which is a registered charity whose volunteer members are committed to improving the waterways, and shorelines of the Tāmaki Estuary, and protecting and enhancing our habitat for local native wildlife. Started in 1969, TEPS members have been involved in many projects, stopping a Glendowie Council rubbish tip, establishing a bird reserve, hosting clean up projects and now, undertaking Environmental DNA testing. www.teps.org.nz
