The Presidents' Pen

Co-Presidents St. Johns Rotary, Penny McGarry (Ph: 021 702 310), and Lesley Harris (Ph: 027 4935 498).

We welcomed DG Steve Chaney and Edith Chaney back this week, as Allan Smith so aptly put it  'last week was a test run'. Good to see Steve looking well.  Steve and Edith then presented their vision, strategies, goals and objectives for District 9920. We will echo these in our planning for St Johns, this year and in future years. Their aim to host the District at Te Papa for the District Conference over the  inaugural Matariki  long weekend is something we should consider supporting as a Club, as we could make it a great weekend of fun and fellowship while getting some ideas of how to support Allan when we are the host club in 2023!!

It was great to see everyone and you will have to cook your own Eggs and Bacon Alex Gatt!

The 'new normal' necessitates a Zoom meeting next Thursday evening, and sadly dinner will NOT be served but do expect some good fun and laughs to break the lockdown boredom. In the meantime time stay away from bugs and stay well.

Stories
Meeting in Review - August 26th 2021
Our second "Zoom Meeting" under the current Covid restrictions saw 22 members and two guests logging on.

Our Co-Presidents, "Presidents Pen" above, is a good summary of the meeting so will leave it at that other than to remind members that Zoom is likely to be our only forum for meetings for the next 3 - 4 weeks at least, certainly not until we are in Level 2.

Over this time, the bulletin will continue to be published each Monday and emails will be sent with updates, Zoom Links etc.

Until face to face meetings are reinstated, Kev's Candid Photo Album is of course on hold, but if any members have "Lockdown" photos that they would like to share, please feel free to use the bulletin as a medium that we can use to stay in touch with each other. Likewise any stories, jokes or whatever that  you would like to share with fellow members, don't hesitate to get these to the Editor for inclusion.  Email - walshp@xtra,co.nz.

In the meantime - stay safe. be kind and stay in touch with each other.
