The Presidents' Pen

Co-Presidents St. Johns Rotary, Penny McGarry (Ph: 021 702 310), and Lesley Harris (Ph: 027 4935 498)

How nice to have Co-President Penny back hosting the ZOOM meeting and pleased to hear her Mum is home again.

Finding a date for your next Apirana Clean up not interfering with an All Black loss may be a bit of a challenge Peter B - thanks for organising.

The Sergeants session definitely revealed some flaws in all our 'memory banks' particularly when it came to America's Cup!

Just as well we engaged the brain for On Beam Consulting Robert Wheadon's IT presentation.  What wonderful resources we have within our membership. Robert's presentation was clear and to the point. Even managed to answer the questions from the not so technical members.  Robert is happy to help all - The link for his contacts

Good News! We have a Christmas dinner planned at Remuera Golf Club, 6pm Dec 11th. RSVP asap please to Robyn

Take care

Stories
We need your support this Thursday for the greatest debate yet!
The art of debate involves mastering skills of obvious intrinsic value: the confidence to speak in public, and make sense; the construction of a logical argument; the ability to read an audience’s reactions; and, perhaps most importantly, the willingness to hear others’ arguments, and to respond to them.
Or are we expecting far too much from our debate this Thursday?
One way to find out ... COME ALONG. Bring your family, your friends, your colleagues and anyone else who would enjoy a thrilling night out. Just let Robyn know for numbers sake robyn.ingram@outlook.com
Projects?  YEAH!
What do you think we should be doing? This cuts to the core of why many join Rotary. Is 13 May in your diary? This is a must for ALL our members. Please also bring along the thoughts of your significant other as Rotary is for members but also our families and friends.

Time For A Smile
40 years
of marriage..

A married
couple in their early 60's were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic
little restaurant.
Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table. She said, 'For being such an exemplary married
couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.'

The wife answered, 'Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband.'
The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her
hands.

The husband thought for a moment:
'Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm
sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.'

The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.
So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!...The husband became 92 years old.

The moral
of this story: Men who are ungrateful so and so's should remember fairies are female.....
