Please watch out for the communication from Penny soon. Our guest speaker was Robert Wheadon, partner of Club Member Ruth. The title of his talk was, "IT Helpful Technical Tips". Robert is a Programmer by trade, he has always worked a lot with computers, and earlier this year he decided to capitalize on his many years of experience and go out on his own. His new business is "On Beam Consultancy". Essentially anything to do with computers is his business. Starting with those pestering upgrades, Robert broke his talk down into five key sub headings; - Upgrades
- Back-ups
- Keep your passwords safe
- Staying out of trouble online
- When it (the computer) stops!
We all face these IT challenges every day and the snippets of knowledge from Robert on how to deal with these problems as they arise were of interest to all. If you would like further information, or help, do not hesitate to contact Robert who can negotiate a consultant fee with you from one hour's support through to supplying an ongoing support contract. On Beams contacts are shown below. Many thanks for your time Robert - very much appreciated by all. |
