Tāmaki Estuary Protection
Jun 15, 2023 7:00 AM
Clean beaches, thriving marine life and clean, clear, safe waters flowing through our neighbourhoods – could it be possible? All through the power of volunteer activities, and fun. Julie is Chair of the the Tāmaki Estuary Protection Society (TEPS) which is a registered charity whose volunteer members are committed to improving the waterways, and shorelines of the Tāmaki Estuary, and protecting and enhancing our habitat for local native wildlife. Started in 1969, TEPS members have been involved in many projects, stopping a Glendowie Council rubbish tip, establishing a bird reserve, hosting clean up projects and now, undertaking Environmental DNA testing. www.teps.org.nz

CHANGE-OVER

With a lot of effort by active members, St. Johns Rotary has achieved significant success over the year. We have had our challeges, but these are now behind us as we celebrate Change-over and recognise all the good in the community that we have been resposible for. Every members attendance at changeover would show all members that we all care about eachother, as we celebrate the hard work over this past year and welcome in the New Year with our "Happy New Year" theme. Wear Bright Colours and be prepared for a fun and memorable evening. Please RSVP to Lesley asap!!

Two for the price of one! :) Come along and hear from the St. Johns sponsored RYPEN participants., as well as the students we sponsored to participate in MUNA. Both Sacred Heart and Glendowie College students will be represented and they will be accompanied by school teachers and Ainie Kwok. These meetings are always a highlight as we bask in the satisfaction of listening to the experiences that these students have had, thanks to the sponsorship of St Johns Rotary. |
